Have you got what it takes to be Champion Artist 2010?
This year our theme is 'The Blues' - it's open to interpretation, e.g. music, colour, water, sky, emotions, the boys in ‘Blue’, Picasso’s Blue period, etc.
We're looking for diversity in styles, i.e. traditional, contemporary, indigenous, anamorphic perspective, graffiti art and more. You don't have to be a traditional chalk artist - in fact many of our winners have been first timers.
There's plenty of prize money up for grabs but there are plenty of other reasons to get involved too.
Chalk is a 4-day art camp for artists – lots to learn and lots of fun to be had. People from all disciplines and cultural backgrounds participate – it’s a celebration of art on the streets for everyone to enjoy and be inspired.
You'll meet other artists, share and learn new techniques, build relationships, engage with the public and show them what you can do, encourage people to see more of your work, build your confidence and your network.
You keep your artwork at the end of the Festival and there are will be opportunities to get involved in other projects too, in chalk and other mediums. Many artists have gone on to work with the organisers on paid projects around Australia & Overseas.
